Clinical Supervision

I offer one-on-one consultation to newer therapists. I believe in the importance of having a supportive, reflective, and knowledgeable supervisor to enhance your growth, development, and wellness in both personal and professional life.
Being a therapist can be difficult, especially being early in your career.
You may experience some of these common problems:
Self-doubt and anxiety as a newer therapist.
Feeling like an imposter.
Questioning your effectiveness or therapeutic interventions.
Feeling stuck or irritated with a client/s.
Are unsure of who you are as a clinician.
Are overwhelmed or exhausted.
Noticing some of your past experiences are impacting your work.
If you identify with any of these issues, I may be a good fit for you to partner with.
With over 15 years experience providing art therapy, counselling and/or consultation for children, youth, adults, families, couples, groups, and organizations, I have a lot to offer.
I can support you in meeting your registration hours (i.e. CATA, CCPA, BCACC).
We work collaboratively to determine how you want to use your clinical consultation. You may want to use your time to:
Assess your strengths and areas for learning.
Go over difficult cases where you are stuck or triggered emotionally.
Discuss therapeutic modalities and how to apply them in your work.
Establish professional development goals.
Explore strategies for maintaining a work and home-life balance.
Discuss moral and ethical issues.
Trust and connection is essential to the success of our working relationship. This supports you to feel more comfortable in discussing challenges with clients, areas to work on, and emotional responses or vulnerabilities in your work.
I use a strengths-based, trauma-informed, relational framework and I will work to meet your unique needs and goals.
I help you increase your professional competency. This can include your clinical knowledge and reasoning, communication skills, and values, which will be explored through reflective practices. I also help you to develop more awareness around how your own ‘unfinished business’ impacts your work with your clients. You will have more confidence in working with clients on every level.
Ongoing professional development and expanding my knowledge base through experience is essential to my role as a clinical supervisor.
If you are looking for a supervisor with varied clinical experience and training, I may be a fit for you.
Below are some of the specific trainings and education I have completed.
• Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology
• Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Art Therapy
• Continuing education training in Expressive Play Therapy 1 and Sandplay Therapy 1, Satir Transformational Systems Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy for Adults and Adolescents, and anxiety treatment for children and adolescents.
